Making the most of your college career is always on the brain of every college student. You study hard, get as much rest as you can, and sometimes treat yourself to something you really want in the name of keeping you sane; however, do you think about making the most of your dining plan, and are you?
One way you can be on top of your “dining game” is keeping an eye on your Flex Dollars. For those who don’t know, Flex is a currency added to your ID that can be used at any Metz location on campus. It ensures you never have to worry about cash or credit, as long as you have money on your account. Here’s a few aspects about Metz at Roberts that involve our Flex Program.
Hawks Grill may be known to you as “Meal Equiv” but there is so much more offered there than you may realize. The goal of Hawks is to bring new items that differ from the daily menu that can give students a chance to make their flex count. Yes, you can use meal swipes on certain items but others, like chicken wings, can be purchased as well.
Alongside Hawks, InterMetzo Cafe (located in the Library) is a great location to use your flex dollars to their full potential. With a new flavor featured every month, delicious and innovative baked goods, and on the go options for both food and beverages, there is never a lack of options for you to choose from.
With both these options available, it is no wonder students run out of their flex dollars so quickly. Did you know that if you buy a medium coffee at the cafe every day you will run out of flex in 25 days (if you’re on the Gold Plan), 50 days (if you’re on the Silver Plan), and 100 days (if you’re on the Bronze Plan). And if you didn’t know, you can always add more flex to your plan by stopping at Garlock and asking the cashier to help you out with that; Meg is a pro! As well, keep an eye out for possible promotions in the future that will give you a bit of a boost in your Flex dollars.
